This work is one that exposes hidden meaning within existing text.

Its message is a celebration and acceptance of not reaching a goal. Similarly to previous text works we are asked to contemplate the moment and in this case be accepting in our analysis. The piece essentially may on first reading resonate of frustration and negativity when in fact Melvin is asking us to take comfort in the Derridean idea that meaning and conclusion can always be deferred to a point in the future, a point just beyond our reach.

This piece will feature in a short film by Glasgow based film maker Kate Burton entitled “Ever here I be”.
