Stammer is a work inspired by Melvin’s friend Jim Tonge who suffers from a stutter. The piece endeavours to articulate the moment of incoherent utterance through a piece of abstract, manipulated, neon: a material that we usually find bent to shape text and image.
A series of ten, though no single piece is exactly alike in form.
